Highly Evolved. 2020

This project is the culmination of great change in identity that I have experienced in the past year. Becoming a mother and the ending of my marriage. I at once have become an independent being void of dependency of another person no longer tethered. But also, becoming a mother, the singular central point that supports another life, that is all encompassing of me. These drawings are a navigation through the experiences of transformed identity. The series of works are life size figures of me entwined in vines and leaves, symbolising the transformation to becoming an evolved version of myself.
